The village lies at an altitude of 350 to 440 meters above sea level in the foothills of the northern foot of the Beskydy Mountains Prašivé known in the valley formed by the river Lucina, east of Frydek-Mistek. The village was founded during the reign of George of Podebrady in the second half of the 15th century. The first written mention of the village dating from the early 17th century.
